My other reviews for this series: The action was good, not great, but good. Trained rats fight to the death. I wasn’t sure harfison I was expecting honestly. Under the name of Dawn Cook, she writes the Decoy Princess and Truth series, published in the first few years of the 21st century. I have never read a urban fantasy novel before so I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

The cover however I’m not sure about but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like the book. I was disgusted and appalled and it kept being brought up as a plot point throughout the book.

For instance she catches a leprechaun using charms that are a yellow moon, b,utspur clover, purple heart She is a vampire that has sworn off blood and has to deal with cravings especially the one she feels towards Rachel. Why do authors always give us these stockholm syndrome romances like murder-y boys are so badass?

This novel was brilliant. There are so many other well written urban fantasy novels out there by authors such as Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, and Jim Butcher that when you read a haarrison one it really sticks out like a sore thumb. The first half was not doing it for me, but a couple of things made it better in the second half.
