I am trying to keep up my promise to self by posting another book review this week. So for me the connection was strong. From intrusive in-laws and absconding domestic staff to p Set in Gurgaon, the dazzling face of modernity in India, Intermission takes us into the lives of Varun and Gayatri Sarin, not-so-happily-married corporate couple who are trying to come to terms with life in India after several years of an ordered existence in the First World.

Finding Indian Authors at the libraies here have been a challenge, let me see if I can get this book. I liked the ending as well. Traffic jams are a part of the staple diet of the urban Indian. Want to Read saving…. Fifty Shades of Grey and the Working Woman.

The Times of India features the book! Picked up this book on a whim and couldn’t stop reading. While I had absolutely loved the author’s debut novel,I didn’t like this one at all. I read this recently. Their son Anirudh is grappling with his first adolescent crush. The main protagonist of the story Varun, is a middle aged man who falls for a young and vibrant woman, Sweety. Varun brings in new adventures in her life and she gets tempted for a life with him.

Glad you liked it…the main thing that I had liked about the book was the treatment and the way it ended. Can the conservative, curd-rice eating Damayanthi become a cool, corporate babe? I just couldn’t connect to the writing, it felt so distant! Surenderan will be in conversation with me.
