Funny and charming and actually well-written. Admittedly, Babyville had a strong impact on me because I could very easily be one of the three main female characters since I identified with some aspect of each of them.
The characters are intriguing — Mark, in particular, is lovely and I would defy most women to read this book and not develop at least a little bit of a crush on him. Sam’s section is about a woman who is probably suffering from postpartum depression but is also feeling a lot of emotions that many new mothers feel. Jane Green has done an amazing job babhville knitting these characters together and writing a fabulous novel.

Even when some of the characters were doing not-so-happy things, you could understand where they were coming from blinders on to relationship issues, denial of postpartum depression, etc. Feb 10, Emily rated it it was amazing. I get that we – as women – struggle with who we are and how to define ourselves apart from our “better half” and our ability to procreate. But when her no-strings-attached nightlife leads to an unexpected pregnancy, her reaction gren be just as unexpected.
